January: Be Intentional

January 15, 2017

I love the power of words.  For a few years now I have been choosing a "word of the year" to add focus to my thoughts and efforts.  The idea of how one word can change your outlook and choices is really very simple and thought provoking, isn't it?  My word  for 2017 was already following me around and bumping into me before January even started.

So, I've been thinking.  What is the difference between having good "intentions" and "being intentional"?  We know the road where the first one leads, right?  Does the second take us on a different journey and destination?  Let's find out!

I've noticed the act of being or becoming nudges me to take action instead of just wishin' and hopin' things were different.  When I'm intentional, I seek, act, and find simple rewards along the way.  I'm more present in the moment.  Goals no longer seem to have heavy chains attached to them.  Being intentional at the gym has a whole new meaning now - I look forward to the huffing and puffing.

Do you have a word?  We would love to hear about it.

Thanks for stopping by . . . you're in good company!
