April: Be Wise

April 01, 2017

We (Bailey) have chosen the word wise for the month of April.  One reason she chose that word is she thinks because I'm a year older that somehow makes me wiser.  Another reason - she thinks with this added wisdom I will know more about how to use this computer.

Well, guess what - I Googled the word wise and it didn't say anything about computer knowledge.  Wise means having or showing experience, knowledge, and good judgment.  There is an old saying that goes something like this, "One head cannot hold all wisdom."  I truly believe that.

I can't and won't share all the wisdom that I've learned in my lifetime.  It would go two ways -- either it would be too long and you would get bored; or too short and you would say, "She doesn't know much at all."  So I will share just a few things.

1.  Listen to your mother.  When she says always wear clean underwear because you never know if you might be in an accident (and have to go to the hospital) - that is true.  I know!!  Don't ask.

2.  Be patient.  You cannot expect to have everything right away that your parents have spent a lifetime acquiring.

3.  I have learned that I am happiest when I am making other people happy.

4.  Setting goals and making lists helps you move forward.

"Anyone who stops learning is old, whether twenty or eighty.
Anyone who keeps learning stays young.
The greatest thing in life is to keep your mind young."

So for the month of April I will continue to wear clean underwear and try to be patient as we continue working on things around the house.  Also, I'm going to make Bailey happy by setting a goal to learn at least two new things about my computer.  I'm not sure that's really going to keep me young, but hopefully I will be wiser.

Thanks for listening!  I enjoy good company.
