#Who's Who of B and B

Life, Love and Trains

June 20, 2017

I collect quotes.  In the back of my journal I write quotes or sayings that impress me or make me laugh or make me think or make me emote in any way.  Sometimes I will write a real letter to my children and include a quote that may have some meaning to them at the time.  Of course, I have to note that they have already been given that quote, or I may duplicate myself.

As I was working on that Stormy Proposal post I came upon this from Gordon B. Hinckley:

"Anyone who imagines that bliss is normal is going to waste a lot of time running around shouting that he has been robbed.  The fact is most putts don't drop.  Most beef is tough.  Most children grow up to be just people.  Most successful marriages require a high degree of mutual toleration.  Most jobs are more often dull than otherwise. . .

"Life is like an old time rail journey - delays, sidetracks, dust, cinders, and jolts, interspersed only occasionally by thrilling bursts of speed.  The trick is to thank the Lord for letting you have the ride."
