#Who's Who of B and B

A hop, skip and a jump [Redrock Canyon]

April 08, 2017

I asked Mr B if he was done working out in the yard.  He's a very handy man to have around and has been very busy over the past couple months whacking pruning, digging, dunging, planting, transplanting . . . It's hard to duplicate the Garden of Eden here.

I suggested we do something together -- you know, a kinda bonding thing.  Take a hike.  No, my suggestion to him, not his response.  It just dawned on me . . . the last thing he probably wanted to do was spend more time out in the heat.

Redrock Canyon has several hikes, and Mr. B picked the only one listed as "strenuous" -- Turtlehead Peak.  Truth in advertising.

I ask him, "What's our destination?"
"Up there at the top."
(Seriously?)
Now, this picture is deceiving -- it looks like a hop, skip and a jump to get there,
but only if you are a mountain goat.

 The lone and dreary world.

Almost at the top . . . looking over our thriving metropolis.

 At the Peak

I saw this idea on Pinterest.

Let's put this in perspective.  The arrow on the right is the parking lot.  Don't hold your applause . . . give me a pat on the back for being a finisher.  It's been way too long since I've been on a hike.  Interestingly, I wasn't really sore this morning; but as the day progresses, my body is starting to remind me I'm not a spring chicken anymore.

A tough way to make a "living".

Loving, or at least appreciating, the desert is an acquired taste.

"Thanks Mr B for taking me on this hike!  It felt more of an accomplishment than staying home and doing laundry or ironing."

Thanks for joining us!  I enjoy good company.

    1. I know, right? There comes a time when you have reached the top - no more pretending you're still on an upward climb ;) Thanks for stopping by!
