Stay-soft Sugar Cookies

February 09, 2018

I was lucky enough to do some babysitting on the day my daughter made these all-time favorite sugar cookies.  You probably have the recipe - if not look no further because they ALWAYS stay soft.  No more crispy, brittle cookies after a day.

The goodness starts here:
3 cups flour
1 TB baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
14 oz can Eagle brand milk
3/4 cup butter, softened
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla or 1 1/2 tsp almond

Combine dry ingredients.  Cream the other together and add to dry.

Chill.  (I mean the cookie dough.)  Roll out on floured surface and cut in desired shapes.

Bake at 350 for 7-9 minutes.  Cool before frosting.

I've started to prefer almond over vanilla extract.  What do you think?

Almond Frosting:
1/3 cup butter
4 1/2 cup powdered sugar
1/4 milk
1 1/2 tsp almond extract

Just in time for the Loves in your life.  Enjoy!
